The IT Systems Engineer position is responsible for management of Microsoft-based on-premise and cloud IT systems and software.  This is a key position in managing current IT infrastructure and planning for what’s next at Laramar.

This role will primarily be remote, and can be worked remotely from Chicago, IL, Denver, CO, Washington D.C., Orlando, FL, Tampa, FL, Austin, TX, Dallas-Fort Worth, TX, Minneapolis, MN, Atlanta, GA


  • Windows Server, Office 365, Azure administration
  • Exchange Online, Sharepoint, Teams management, policy and security configurations
  • Intune device management
  • Public and private DNS management
  • Hardware & software licensing and purchasing
  • Setup, management and troubleshooting of firewalls, access points, telecom and other network infrastructure
  • Plan and implement complete IT installations at new office locations
  • Evaluate existing office locations technology for improvements, and implement
  • Telecom installation and management at all locations
  • Assist with IoT deployments for our apartment communities
  • Administer varies phone systems, plan and implement upgrades
  • New end user equipment purchasing, setup, and assist with strategy for hardware
  • Tier 3 user support


  • High school diploma required. Relevant degree and/or certifications preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years IT experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Windows, Office 365 (especially Exchange & Sharepoint online), strong networking proficiency.
  • Powershell experience preferred.
  • Experience with Azure AD, and Azure security related implementations desirable.
  • Knowledge with system administration of a cloud phone system required.
  • The ability to travel to our locations, nationwide, for onsite work up to 25% but may fluctuate (increase or decline) based on needs of the business.

  • Maintains absolute integrity, tact, sensitivity, and confidentiality both personally and among team members with respect to sensitive information.
  • Must be an excellent communicator, keeping two-way communication flowing with key stakeholders, inspiring trust and credibility, demonstrating sound judgment and decision-making
  • Must possess strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screen.

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Salary Range: 

$75 - 85K/year
